PLANO — North Texas Tollway Authority Executive Director Jorge Figueredo abruptly resigned Friday evening, saying the job was taking too great a toll on his family. "The difficulties of being separated from my family in Florida have been more of a burden than I ever anticipated," Figueredo said in a statement. His resignation, announced at 5 p.m. Friday in an e-mail news release, was effective immediately. Chief Financial Officer Janice Davis will act as director until a permanent replacement is found, tollway authority officials said. Figueredo’s resignation comes as Tarrant County officials hope to negotiate a final agreement to build the Southwest Parkway toll road from downtown to southwest Fort Worth, and ultimately Cleburne. Figueredo arrived in August 2007.
