Getting fleeced by tolls

Re: "Private toll lanes ahead -- Pricey pay roads, free highways to merge first in Tarrant," Friday news story.
It makes me mad to see us sell our roads to a foreign entity that will have the right to soak drivers forever for profit.
Do we need this capacity for normal traffic flow? Every road project is overwhelmed before it's finished in Dallas. The High Five has not diminished traffic jams but seems to have increased them by piling traffic onto one side of LBJ.
The real need is to use the taxes collected for the roads on the roads. I'll bet we can have the roads we already paid for without the toll roads at all, and the expensive bureaucracy behind the toll roads
