"How can our elected politicans in Austin, with a clear conscience, let this happen? "

Remember how happy we all were when it was announced that there would be a two-year halt to the TTC?? We best not be sitting here like ostriches with our heads in the sand because, that's not what TxDOT is doing.
The column in the Houston Chronicle that caught my eye said, "TxDOT to spend millions." I thought, at last, they're going to do something constructive about our aging highways. WRONG - When I finished reading the column, I was once again fuming about the misuse of taxpayer dollars.
Instead of putting money into much needed road repair, they are launching a multimillion- dollar ad campaign to promote the unpopular Trans-Texas Corridor and toll road system. This campaign is going to cost between 7 and 9 million dollars.
The taxpayers would get a lot more good out of this money being put into highway expansion and repair rather than having to put up with another "Dog and Pony Show" put out by TxDOT.
How can our elected politicans in Austin, with a clear conscience, let this happen?? Sorry about that - I just made a big mistake - I put the words politican and conscience in the same sentence.
